A Nova Scotia mother shares a heart-breaking story about her son’s addiction to prescription drugs – CBC.

Is this happening here too? I imagine so from the comments I receive from those struggling to get help. After listening to this recording I go back to so many conversations…. So many people have to travel for hours just to get treatment. They then move to those city centers but find themselves in communities that are so very tempting. I am wondering how much help is out there. I am also wondering how much Big Pharma is putting towards the problems that they start.

  1. Does your blog have a contact page? I’m having a tough time locating it but, I’d like to send you an e-mail.
I’ve got some suggestions for your blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great website and I look forward to seeing it improve over time.

  3. Hi Melanie,
If you would feel comfortable, maybe post the clinic you found. Thanks for so much for commenting on this issue. I am wondering about this treatment. Quick sounds difficult but better than years on methadone. Mostly, I am so happy to hear that someone made it out. I love your phrase, “Feels reborn”.

  4. I too am a nova scotia mom…..with lots of terrible horrific times with my daughters struggle in small town nova scotia with drugs, opiates, and then methadone. I found something for her after 3 years of researching the web and she finally agreed, as it was a quick treatment…exhausting but quick. She is now back, free of opiates and taking a non-addicting med plus some comfort and herbal meds and FEELS REBORN….to think one week ago today, i though i would lose her during the testing part at the clinic day before the procedure. I too always wondered when will i be planning her funeral. So, we took the cost of a funeral and got her the treatment. SHE FEELS ALIVE AND GREAT for first time in about 8 years and she is only 26. I wish we had something like it in Canada. There is only 3 like it in the USA but i believe after all the research i did….Detroit (Lavonia) Michigan was the best team i ever met.
